Portraits for Charity™ is a small, not for profit, volunteer based organization primarily interested in bringing free creative art and writing workshops to public school children in America as well as SOS Tibetan Children's Villages in India. Each workshop series lasts for the school year and results in the publishing of a book that tells stories from both sides of the world: "Kids Share" One World Storybook. We are currently completing our first volume of story telling from Vermont to India. This will be an on-going series. We are excited to be part of sharing with the Tibetan children by giving them a voice to tell their stories and share them with children of the west.
Children can let their sense of adventure and exploration through their writing and artwork--lead to an understanding of the mosaic of world unity and the importance of variety in oneness. As children share their similarities and differences, the size of our planet shrinks dramatically. We believe that if we encourage arts education, writing skills and life stories, the children of Earth will be stronger and more empathetic toward others than any generation before them. These morals and life skills will be passed down to future generations through the children that we touch now.
Portraits of other famous and familiar faces, as well as pieces created by the children and co-created by children and founder Kristina Lutes, are also produced and sold to benefit chosen charities such as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
