Volume 1: "Kids Share" One World Storybook: Vermont to India

Why Ask For More?
Just like kids need to have good nutrition on a daily basis, kids need to have their daily serving of the arts. Chances are, though, that your kids are not getting enough art—in or out of school. The arts are much more than just fun "extra" activities for kids. Studies have shown the far-reaching benefits of an arts education. Please visit www.americansforthearts.org to learn more!

In our current workshop we visited 2 primary schoolrooms in Vermont and each produced a chapter in the storybook including: a narrative, illustrations and a narrator/mascot. We have sent out a remote workshop package to the Tibetan SOS Children's Village in Bylakuppe, India, which included 20 disposable cameras, art supplies and writing material. We will also visit the Children's Village in the fall of 2009. Our goal will be to bridge cross-cultural learning through the arts with these collaborative and exciting "Kids Share" workshops. We hope the end result of creating and publishing a "Kids Share" Storybook will empower and excite children to consider the many possibilities of the creative arts. PFC will also consider ways we can help charitable causes here in the US and abroad, through the creation of these "Kids Share" storybooks.
