PFC is hoping to organize an exciting opportunity to travel yearly to a new children's village. You will be given the chance to personally touch the lives of many orphaned children through our remote workshops. Portraits for Charity™(PFC) Project: "Kids Share" A Global-Storybook Journey

Why donate to us?

Because you will be contributing to creating positive team work in classrooms, cross-cultural learning through collaborative "Kids Share" story telling, strengthening narrative writings related to their personal worlds, or participating in solutions to problem solving using the creative process through free workshops at public schools. You will be contributing to children feeling empowered and enriched by their own creations which will be shared with other children in other communities and throughout the world!

You CAN also be contributing to art and writing workshops in mostly disadvantaged places, orphanages (SOS Children's Villages), charities that work diligently to improve the health and well-being of individuals as well as our Earth.

Please also consider buying one of our products on CafePress---and you will help us bring global sharing with children around the world!

Where you grow up
should not determine the quality of arts education you receive. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, many public schools are cutting arts and extra curricular activities out of their already constricted budgets. In communities around our country family income often determines a child's educational opportunities, just as it does elsewhere in the world.  We are trying to change that, one classroom at a time.  Won't you please join us?

About Ash Brittenham:

Interview with WCAX News; How a Portrait Will Help Fund Medical Research~ "A special portrait was unveiled Thursday that could help find a cure for a deadly disease". It is a picture of Ash. He's a 4th grader with muscular dystrophy-- a condition that weakens muscles. An artist created the image of Ash with Spiderman-- using tissue paper painted by Ash's classmates at Union Elementary school in Montpelier. Marvel Comics granted the group permission to make 250 posters to sell to raise money. All of it will go toward funding research to find a cure for muscular dystrophy. "What I loved about this project is that it was collaborative-- it involved all the children and the reason I wanted to help is because I care deeply about children, particularly children with disabilities," says artist Kristina Lutes of Portraits for Charity™(PFC) . "It's cool to be in a painting... Raising money for the scientists who are trying to find a cure," says Ash, 10. Lutes donated the painting to Ash-- and he in turn decided to have it stay at school for the rest of the year. Kristin Carlson - WCAX News.

(In 2008 Ash Brittenham collaborated with Kristina A. Lutes to create Speed Demon. Speed Demon will be part of the "Kids Share" 8,000 miles to India storybook. PFC hopes to publish its first "Kids Share" storybook in 2009. A percentage of the proceeds from this first book, will be given to Ash Brittenham).

About SOS TCV:
The largest concentration of Tibetan refugees is in South India, spread throughout five settlements. A growing population and increasing number of destitute families moving into the settlements from other places had put heavy demands for more schools, particularly day-care centers, that would take care of children while parents toil on farms. To continue reading this story, please see Tibet Aid's website
